Estoril Basket Clube was born on September 16, 2005, in response to the need for a club exclusively dedicated to basketball in the municipality of Cascais, which would give all young people the opportunity to practice the sport. The demand was so high that in the first year we had 80 players of both genders, and in the second year we had 154. Even founder José Paiva Henriques didn't foresee such huge growth, but the ambition was to turn the club into a benchmark in the country, which was quickly achieved.
The club's colors - yellow and brown - were designed by former international and coach Henrique Vieira, and the emblem was designed by João Albuquerque, a former Estoril Praia player and son of one of the best Portuguese players of all time, Mário Albuquerque. The colors pay homage to the Real Sociedade club in Mozambique, where some of the founding members had made their way in the sport.
