On 16 September 2025, Estoril Basket Clube celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of history, training and dedication to basketball. As part of these celebrations, the Club revived a very special event: the José Paiva Henriques Tournament, which pays tribute to the founder, member no. 1 and first president of Estoril Basket Clube.
The tournament took place on 20 and 21 September, bringing together all the club's teams, who played their respective presentation matches for the sporting season. The highlight of the weekend was the senior men's team's 68–43 victory over Sporting CP Sub-23, in a match that also counted towards the Armando Simões Tournament, organised by the Lisbon Basketball Association.
Under the motto ‘Two decades, one family,’ this tournament was more than just a weekend of competition; above all, it was a moment of celebration, unity, and identity, marked by reunions with many of the faces that have passed through the Club over its 20-year history and who have cared for it, contributing decisively to its growth and affirmation on the national basketball scene.
Estoril Basket Clube would like to extend a special thanks to the Councillor for Sport of the Cascais Municipal Council, Francisco Kreye, who honoured the event not only with his presence, but also with the public announcement that the future new São João do Estoril Secondary School Pavilion will be the home pavilion of Estoril Basket Clube, a historic milestone that could hardly have been a better birthday present.
The Club would also like to extend a very special thank you to Prof. Rogério Mota, President of the Lisbon Basketball Association, for his presence and public recognition of the work carried out by Estoril Basket Clube, as well as to Perfect Approach, Lda., for sponsoring and supporting the celebrations.
EBC moves into the future with the same ambition, community spirit and commitment to training that have defined these two decades of history.
